After stepping into the film industry with Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010, Rajkummar Rao has managed to time and again impress the audiences with his on-screen performance in movies like Gangs of Wasseypaur, Kai Po Che!, Shahid, Newton, Queen, Aligarh, and more. This year, Rajkummar starred in two films namely Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and Judgmental Hai Kya, both of which fared well at the box-office. While the actor is currently gearing up for his third film of the year Made In China, reports of his next are making rounds on the internet and fans cannot be happier.
In April this year, several reports suggested that Rajkummar was being considered for the role of Dharmendra, in the remake of the 1975 cult classic film Chupke Chupke. Along with Dharmendra, the original flick also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan in key roles. Now, in a recent interview, Rajkummar has spilled beans about the remake and said that stepping in Dharmendra’s shoes will be a ‘big responsibility’ for him. “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Director) standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward,” Rajkummar Rao was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar is currently gearing up for the release of Mikhil Musale’s Made In China, in which he will be seen sharing screen space with Mouni Roy, Boman Irani, and Paresh Rawal, amongst others. While the flick was initially planned to be released in August, the makers postponed the date and the movie will now hit the theatres in October, this year.
Apart from Made In China, Rajkummar will also star in Hardik Mehta’s Roohi Afza. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films, the movie is set to star Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.
