For several weeks, the Eid 2020 box-office face-off between the Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi and the Salman Khan-starrer Inshallah was a hot topic of discussion among industry circles. But all the discussions came to a full stop on Wednesday afternoon when Salman announced March 27, 2020 as the new release date of Sooryavanshi, thereby confirming that its clash with Inshallah had been averted.
On Twitter, Salman shared a photo that has him posing with Sooryavanshi director Rohit Shetty. The superstar wrote on the micro-blogging platform, “I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it… #RohitShetty Sooryavanshi releasing on 27th March, 2020.”
“You can Compete with the World but Not with your Family…See you soon Chulbul Pandey!!!” Rohit wrote on Instagram in response to Salman’s post. The last five words of his reply caught our attention though. By “see you soon Chulbul Pandey,” did Rohit hint at Salman’s possible entry in his cop universe that so far constitutes Ajay Devgn (Singham), Ranveer Singh (Simmba) and Akshay Kumar (Sooryavanshi)?
Salman, has plans to collaborate with Rohit for a cop drama. He had even suggested a Singham-Dabangg crossover to the filmmaker. On the other hand, Rohit, too, has spoken highly of the Dabangg series on more occasions than one. Therefore, there is a strong chance that the duo will come together for a film.
Salman, meanwhile, is currently busy with the shooting of Dabangg 3, which is being helmed by Prabhudheva. The superstar recently had a release in the form of Bharat. The period drama, that features Katrina Kaif as the female lead, has collected over Rs 167 crore at the box office. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar of Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai fame, the film also stars Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni and Tabu in significant roles.
