Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn who was last seen in the rom-com ‘De De Pyaar De’ is all gearing up for his next ‘Maidaan’. Taking to his Twitter profile, the actor has shared the first look of the film. The poster features a globe where the sphere is resembling a football and the caption reads as ‘The Golden Era Of Indian Football 1952-1962’.
Helmed by Amit Sharma the film is based on the Indian Football Team and how the team, under the guidance of SA Raheem, brought glory to the country during 1952-1962, it stars Ajay Devgn in the lead as Indian football coach and manager, Syed Abdul Rahim. Syed is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football. His tenure as a coach is considered as the ‘golden era’ of football in India as he had led the team to the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Football tournament making India the first ever Asian country to achieve this place. The film also stars National Award winner Keerthy Suresh.
The film which is produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta is kicked off today and is expected to release in 2020.
