Akshay Kumar is definitely here to bowl you over with his upcoming film, Laxmmi Bomb. While it’s a known fact that the film is an official remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana, which revolves around a man getting posessed by the ghost of a transgender, you will be amazed to see how brilliantly AK has slipped into the role of a transgender. Wearing a red saree and standing with fuming eyes at the backdrop of Goddess Durga , Akshay has brilliantly replicated south actor Sarath Kumar’s look from the original film.
Given that this is the first time Akshay has taken up such a bold character on screen, the actor is excited but equally nervous. Taking up to Twitter, Akshay related his character with the ongoing Navratri festival and captioned it saying, “Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion,I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi.A character I am both excited and nervous about… but then life begins at the end of our comfort zone…isn’t it?”
Interestingly, earlier there were rumours about Amitabh Bachchan playing the transgender ghost in the film. In fact, it all started after director Raghava Lawrence mentioned in an interview that he’s keen on casting Bachchan in the Hindi remake. However, now with Akshay playing the above role, it’s left to see what will be Bachchan’s role in the film, if at all he agrees to do a cameo.
Also starringb Kiara Advani, Laxmmi Bomb is all set to release during Eid 2020. The film is produced by Tusshar Kapoor and Shabina Khan. How thrilled are you to watch Akshay in this never-seen-before avatar?
