Bollywood celebrities are not just limited to what’s happening in their industry and are taking active participation in the frequent political unrest that is governing the country. While many celebs from the tinsel town have been taking an active stand in the recent political unrest in the country, Deepika Padukone is one such actor who isn’t shying away from what is happening and recently visited the JNU campus.
The actress was seen standing in unity with the students to protest against the attacks. “I am proud to see that we are not scared to express ourselves. The fact that we are considering this and speaking about it, irrespective of the point of view we have, is a great thing to witness,” said Deepika in a promotional event.
Deepika met injured JNUSU President, Aishe Ghosh with folded hands. She came, made her presence felt and left without giving any speech. On January 5, 2019, a couple of JNU students were mercilessly beaten by masked attackers.
Mumbai’s Carter Road yesterday saw many celebs in attendance, protesting against the terrifying attacks. Celebs such as Anurag Kashyap, Dia Mirza, Anubhav Sinha, Zoya Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Taapsee Pannu, Gauahar Khan, Rahul Bose, Richa Chaddha, Kim Sharma, Amyra Dastur, Ali Fazal and Saurabh Shukla amongst were spotted. Anurag and Anubhav had also waved the tricolour in the middle of the protest to show that they are in union with the students and that, a firm action should be taken.
