Kajol, Ajay Devgn’s on-screen pairing? Anees Bazmee could bring them together

Kajol and Ajay Devgn might be one of the most reverred real-life couples but on screen, too, the duo has never ceased to amaze cinephiles. Films like Gundaraj, Raju Chacha, Hulchul, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Ishq Toonpur Ka Super Hero, U Me Aur Hum and Dil Kya Kare among others have established the couple as not just actors with an impressive versatile range, but also a casting to always look forward to.

Interestingly, two of their many films together, including Hulchal and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, have been directed by filmmaker Annes Bazmee, who is currently in London with the team of his next comedy film, Pagalpanti.

In a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, the filmmaker was asked if he’ll be able to bring back the stars together on the screen again. To which, Bazmee expressed that he’d love to work with them and that the duo, too, will be happy to collaborate with him. He has been quoted as saying, “I love to work with them and I am sure they would love to work with me. We share a great equation. Both Kajol and Ajay are my very good friends. I made the first film of my life with them so they are always special for me.”

Sharing that since they were the first ones he collaborated with him on his debut, Bazmee explained that if a suitable script comes along, he will definitely bring the two together. “Then I made Pyaar to Hona Hi Tha which was a big hit. Ajay had a very different role in the film and Kajol had delivered a very good performance. They tied the knot around the same time. I know them since then and even now when we meet each other, it feels as if we met just a few days ago. If I have a script which I can make with them, I will definitely bring them together and they will love to be on board,” the filmmaker told the publication.

On the film front, Bazmee’s next directorial stars John Abraham, Urvashi Rautela, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Arshad Wasi, Saurabh Shukla, Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles. Revolving around the Indian superstition of ‘Shani’ Saturn, the comedy is set for a November release this year.
