After enjoying a brief holiday with hubby Naga Chaitanya in the exotic locales of Spain, Samantha Akkineni has recently returned to the country and upon arrival, she has been actively participating in the promotions of her forthcoming release ‘Oh Baby’. The comedy-drama is the remake of South Korean film ‘Miss Granny’ which showcases the story of a 70-year-old grandma who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after clicking a picture in a mysterious studio. Sam will be playing the younger version of veteran actress Lakshmi in the film.
Like most modern-day celebrities, the 32-year-old actress commands an enviable fan following on social media handles. Along with many people who admire the leggy lass for her impeccable fashion sense, there are some haters as well. Samanthais no exception to trolling and often gets nasty comments for her Instagram posts. During a recent interaction, the ‘Majili’ actress opened up about how social media trolls affected her at one point in her career and how she dealt with them.
“Trolling did affect me initially, to the extent that I was questioning whether I was going insane. I would wake up and the first thing I would do was check for trolls. It was really, really hurting my mental stability and making me rush to make the wrong decisions,” she said.
Commenting on how she managed to come out from that phase, “I don’t think I have much advice for anyone or much of an explanation on how I got out of such a situation. It was just over time. Now, I am at a point where it’s just for fun. I do not respond to that for any sort of annoyance. I am just playing along.”
After being the subject of trolling quite often, Samantha revealed that she now knows what to expect before posting something online. “I know there is going to be a troll even before I put a tweet or post a picture. I have gotten so used to what to expect from trolls, that I know exactly what is going to happen.”
