After creating a havoc at the box office with Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is back with another Telugu remake titled as Jersey. Since the film has been announced, fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates. At several occasions, Shahid was spotted practising and honing his cricketing skills since last month. While stills and videos of Shahid prepping for Jersey have been making rounds on the internet, the film is all set to go on floors within a week’s time.
The film’s first shooting schedule will commence from December 2 in the capital of Punjab, Chandigarh. The shoot will go on until December 20 before the team takes a break for Christmas and New Year week. After a break of a few days, the film’s crew and cast will commence the second shooting schedule in Chandigarh.
“After prepping for almost two months on a turf in suburban Mumbai, Shahid will start shooting from December 2. The month-long schedule stretches right up to December 20. After that, the team will take a break for around four-five days for the New Year before regrouping in Chandigarh for the second schedule,” a source close to the film’s developments.
The film is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name which starred Shraddha Srinath and Nani in lead roles. The Tollywood film Jersey released earlier this year in April. The film received positive reviews from critics and fans. The Telugu film was helmed by Gowtham Tinnanuri who will also direct the Hindi remake of the film.
Now coming to the Hindi remake of Jersey, the film will hit the theatres in August 2020. The makers of the film have roped in Mrunal Thakur for the female lead.
