Sujeeth requests everyone to watch Saaho again

Saaho was a highly anticipated film of the year. It was the most-awaited for fans and even the industry as it marked the return of Prabhas to the big screen more than two years after the global phenomenon that was Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The expectation was sky high from the film but it all turned out to be an anti-climax for the fans of Prabhas and the movie buffs in general as Saaho failed to entertain the audience.

Made on a massive budget of Rs 350 crore, Saaho was panned by the film critics and the response from the audience too have been mixed to negative. Even though in the first four days of its release, the movie has grossed more than Rs 330 crore globally according to the makers, but in the truest sense, Saaho survived at the box office only because of Prabhas’ pan-India appeal. Moreover, the day 4 of Saaho was a partial holiday hence the collections are expected to take a steep dip from today.

Helmed by a 28-year-old filmmaker Sujeeth, Saaho is only his second film. Taking to Instagram to talk about his short journey as a filmmaker and the struggle he has seen, Sujeeth, in an emotional post, thanked everyone for watching the film and talked about how he made his first short film when he was just 17 years old. He also requested the audience to give the film a second chance.

His note read, Made my first short film when I was 17 years old. No money, No team but had lot of support from Orkut and family. I edited, shot and directed 90% of my short films. I learned from my mistakes and criticism was always like extra boost for my journey. Travelled very long way and faced many hurdles but never gave up. TODAY MANY PEOPLE saw SAAHO – some expected more from it, but many loved it! Thanks to all for watching the movie 🙂 Please watch it again if you missed anything. I am sure you’ll enjoy even more. #Saaho
